Our location is most attractive, being a stone's throw from Eton College. Our six acres of semi-wooded surroundings give the children tremendous opportunities to play and explore.
The school's facilities consist of purpose-built classrooms, specialist teaching rooms, a modern ICT suite, a Science Laboratory, Art and Music rooms, a Learning Support room known as ‘The Den’, a well-resourced library and a spacious school hall.
Successful Outdoor Weeks and a keen focus on ‘green’ issues have led to the school growing its own vegetables and plants. There is a greenhouse and raised growing beds which the ‘gardening gang’ use. The Science Department makes full educational use of the large school pond and the covered outdoor classroom space as well as the extensive field and woodland space.
The Nursery Garden is a spacious area which provides numerous play activities for our youngest pupils. There is a large lawn surrounded by activity zones including a mud kitchen and a track for bikes and trikes. The outside classroom provides opportunities to explore and develop physical boundaries to take risks and to discover the real world through the senses.
The Reception classes make full use of their outside learning facility with covered areas immediately outside their classrooms and an individual garden space for each class.
Within our grounds there are courts for netball and tennis and a large playing field for Athletics, Cricket, Football and Rounders. At break time there is an adventure play trail, climbing frame, table tennis and an outdoor stage area. The woodland space alongside the field comes into its own at playtime, as children collaborate to build dens and are allowed to ‘be children’.
We love taking our learning outdoors and are very keen to explore and utilise our extensive school grounds at every opportunity to enhance our pupils' learning and enrich the fabulous teaching here at Eton End. 'The Hive' is a purpose built outdoor classroom for the children to enjoy workshops, forest school experiences and creative activities together.
