The Pre-Prep curriculum is skills based and knowledge supported. It includes not only what to study but also how to study. Learning for our pupils is motivational and successful. Emotional literacy is valued as highly as academic success.

To keep learning exciting, a series of topic-based approaches is used. By linking separate subjects under the umbrella of a topic, the learning is fun and stimulating. This creative approach to the curriculum benefits from good quality enrichment activities too; Puzzle Day, French Theatre and termly drama workshops are examples of this. The pupils enjoy involving their parents with their learning: the Reception children invite their parents to an Art exhibition once a term; the Year 1 pupils hold a Cocktail Party for the adults; the Year 2 pupils challenge their parents with research activities at a Riverside Picnic.

Specialist lessons are introduced at an early stage; from Reception, children have French & Spanish on the timetable, as well as specialist taught music, gymnastics and an afternoon of Games. As the pupils move into Year 1, they benefit from the expertise of our Head of Science as well as going swimming weekly at Eton College Pool. In Year 2 Art and DT are taught in the designated area by the specialist teacher.

Eton End Pre-Prep Department is a thriving department where children are stimulated, fascinated and challenged.

Past Parent

We only wish that we had been able to spend more than a couple of years at this wonderful school! Our daughter has enjoyed her time at Eton End and made some truly great friends.

Present Grandparent

Thank you Eton End for your guidance in the lives of our two delightful granddaughters. From a very grateful Grandmother & Grandpop’.
