The Committee of the Friends of Eton End is made up of approximately ten parents, a member of Staff and a Governor. Committee meetings are held twice a term at the school or a member’s house and the AGM takes place at school in the Summer Term. Informal meetings are held as and when necessary. A termly Newsletter is circulated to all parents.
The Friends’ aims are:
- To provide social occasions for parents to meet and feel part of the school
- To support the school by fund-raising
- To fund and organise events for the children
Each class in the school has a Class Representative who liaises between the main Friends’ Committee and the parents. They also help at the various events.
Fundraising and events
A number of fund-raising events are held throughout the year which enable the Friends to purchase a wide range of additional equipment for the school and to fund special events and entertainments for the pupils. The older pupils enjoy discos in the summer and autumn terms. The Friends provide refreshments at school events such as Prize Giving, Nursery Sports Day and Christmas Celebrations.
The Committee uses its funds carefully and spending decisions are made in consultation with the Committee and the Class Representatives, staff, parents, School Council and the pupils generally.
Second-hand Uniform Sales
These sales are organised each term by the Friends’ Uniform Sales Coordinator, and they offer a valuable service to past, current and new parents.
If you have items of uniform to sell, please see the Guidelines and Prices.
